Tiling like hy3

A tree of horizontal and vertical splits and tab groups, autotile by available width, directional focus and move, floating windows, window rules and submaps.

A full desktop session

Layer-shell, session lock, idle, data control, screen capture, foreign toplevels, workspaces, output management, input methods, sandboxed clients and Xwayland.

Games and hardware

Vulkan FIFO pacing, opt-in tearing, pointer warps and constraints, NVIDIA explicit sync and Mesa, fractional scaling, and outputs on several GPUs.

Polished with no config

Rounded corners, gaps, soft shadows, quiet borders and spring animations tuned per event are on from the first start, with glass behind bars and dropdowns on a GPU. Every one of them is a config key, and what you set wins.

One config file, one socket

One strictly validated YAML file whose errors name the file, line and key, and lys-wmctl with a JSON protocol and event stream for scripts and bars.

Packaged

A NixOS module, a home-manager module, and Debian, Ubuntu, Fedora and tarball release builds.
